Stanford Wine Collection

Shipping Options

What are the options for shipping my wine?

We deliver wine to home and business addresses in most US states (see list here). If you’d prefer to have your wine delivered to a UPS Access Point, we can arrange that as well.

What are UPS Access Points?

UPS Access Points are convenient hand-selected UPS locations where you can pick up your wine. If you won’t be home to sign for your package and you can’t ship to your business, this is a great option! You can select the wine delivery timing and after the wine arrives at the UPS Access Point, you have one week to pick it up. You will be able to select a nearby Access Point on the final checkout page.

How do I select the UPS Access Point pick up option?

When you’re ready to check out, select the Shopping Cart icon on the right side of your screen. Click “Check Out.” After you log in and enter your address, you will be able to select a UPS Access Point on the final checkout page. See example below.

Can I send wine to multiple addresses?

Yes. It is possible to send wine to multiple addresses. However, because shipping regulations vary by state, you must complete separate orders for each address, and check out completely in-between transactions.

Can I request a specific delivery window or delay my wine shipment to avoid extreme weather?

Yes. Vinoshipper typically ships wine on Mondays to avoid the possibility of additional warehouse time in transit over the weekend. However, if you have a specific arrival date in mind, or will be away on vacation at the time you purchase wine, it is possible to delay your shipment during the checkout process by leaving a note in the shipment instructions section.

As you know, wine can be damaged by exposure to severe weather, such as extreme heat or freezing temperatures. During times when wine is at risk of being damaged, we recommend you include a note during the checkout process to alert Vinoshipper to place a hold on shipment until a specific date. To track the shipping status of your order, refer to the tracking number on the email confirmation you received. In general, it is recommended that you order your wine to be shipped via an expedited service. The less time your wine spends in transit, the less chance of it being damaged. We apologize for this inconvenience, but such is the dynamic nature of wine.

Can the order be delivered on the weekend?

No. Unfortunately, wine cannot be delivered on the weekend. However, some UPS Access Points may offer pick up on Saturdays (depending on the location).

Can I specify the delivery time of the order?

No. Delivery time cannot be specified. You will be notified of the shipment and the day of arrival. We recommend having the wine delivered to a place of work where someone is present during business hours.

When will my order ship?

Orders will begin to ship in mid-September. Orders will normally ship on the Monday of the week following your purchase. If you have a special rush or request, please contact Vinoshipper customer service by email. At times of extreme temperature, orders may be held to protect the wine. We will notify you if this happens.

Why can't Stanford wine be shipped to all 50 states?

When the 21st Amendment was added to the Constitution, it was left to individual states to set the laws pertaining to the importation and shipment of alcohol within its borders. As a result, each state has different laws regulating the shipment of wine, and compliance issues are very complex.
