This Golden Zinfandel is sourced from head-pruned vines grown in ideal conditions on the Heart Arrow Ranch. The wine is made with organic and biodynamic grapes in a very traditional manner and aged in 100% French Oak for 20 months. It exhibits sweet floral aromas with a nice blend of black cherry and mulberry fruit followed by hints of caramel wrapped in baking spices. The texture is mouth-filling and velvety with a nice long finish.

The Golden Cellars family ranch sits high above Redwood Valley in Mendocino County. Owners Julie and Joe Golden, ‘80, are stewards of the regenerative farm at the historic Heart Arrow Ranch where the vineyards are certified Organic and Biodynamic. At an elevation of 2000 feet, the vineyard is in the Eagle Peak AVA at the very headwaters of the Russian River. The Zinfandel Heritage Vineyard blocks were planted in 1999 with clones cut from three of the most famous Zinfandel vineyards in California: Shenandoah, DuPratt and Amador as well as a fourth block of Primitivo sourced from Puglia, Italy, one of the earliest plantings of Zinfandel. The Goldens are third generation farmers in Mendocino County and are dedicated to sustainability and using environmentally sound practices to grow grapes and promote wildlife habitat on their property.
